In this paper, a hybrid method based on a linear programming model for solving Multi-Attribute Decision-Making (MADM) problems by combining two new methods, the COmplex PRoportional Assessment (COPRAS) and the Multi-objective Optimization Ratio Analysis (MOORA) and also using the concept of discrimination intensity functions are presented. Further interaction with the Decision Maker (DM) to determine the weights of the attributes and calculate the weights by solving a linear programming problem without determining the predetermined weight are two of the advantages of the new method. In the proposed method, for each alternative, attributes are weighted with optimism for that alternative, and then alternatives are ranked through efficiency intervals. The proposed method is implemented on a real-world problem derived from the subject literature and compared with other MADM methods. The difference in the final results is evident due to the consideration of more details in determining the rankings.

Multiple criteria decision-making (MCDM) is well known nowadays as a methodology in which a set of techniques are integrated to evaluate a set of alternatives with specified criteria for the purpose of selecting or ranking. The Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) is well-established methodology frequently considered in MCDM analyses. TOPSIS has a sound logic that represents the rationale of human choice and is a scalar value simultaneously taking into account both the best and worst alternatives. Moreover, it has a simple computation process that could be easily programmed and finally it has the ability to rank alternatives on attributes to be visualized on a polyhedron, in at least two dimensions. Despite the advantages of this method, the process of ranking alternative according to related criteria may need more consideration. Typically, there are contributions in this article. First, a new similarity measure has been introduced followed by a modification applied to TOPSIS analyses. Second, the modified similarity technique was subsequently extended in the fuzzy context to cope with the uncertainty inherently existing in human judgments. A numerical example of the personnel selection was presented to demonstrate the possible application of the proposed method in human resource management. The outcome of applying fuzzy similarity method showed a significant distinction in ranking alternatives compered to TOPSIS method. Therefore, the modification is sound to be a proper solution.

The personality in the present world plays a critical role in social interactions, the use of modern technologies, and individuals' success. Therefore, in the last two decades, the study of Automatic Personality Perception (APP) and Automatic Personality Recognition (APR) has become more prevalent than speech processing. These studies have shown that personality traits affect acoustic features. However, the intrinsic imbalanced distribution of personality classes across the dataset is an issue mentioned in most previous studies and the classification results suffer from it. In this paper, an innovative supervised k-fold Cross-Validation (CV) method was proposed to cope with the problem of affecting the imbalanced distribution of data across different classes. The classification outcomes showed better performance in comparison with three traditional data balancing methods. Moreover, the obtained results of the proposed evaluation method indicated that the proposed method acts as a k-fold CV method if the data distribution is balanced; otherwise, it will improve the classification results.

The purpose of this paper is to develop a new Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) framework for identification, prioritization and improvement of failure modes. A hybrid multiple criteria decision-making (MCDM) method combining Stepwise Weight Assessment Ratio Analysis (SWARA) and VlseKriterijumska optimizacija I KOm-promisno Resenje (VIKOR) is used to rank the risk of failure modes identified in FMEA. For this purpose, the SWARA method is utilized to obtain the influential weights and then VIKOR technique is employed to give the prioritization levels for the failure modes in safety equipment. A case study of a gas company in Lorestan Province (Iran) is provided to illustrate the potential application and benefits of the proposed FMEA approach. The obtained results show that the new risk priority model can be effective to find high risk failure modes and create suitable maintenance strategies. The proposed FMEA also can overcome the shortcomings, improve the effectiveness of the traditional FMEA and provide useful information to help in managing risks of safety equipment.

The production and service functions in the innovation system emphasize producing new products. As any innovation system’s final output must ultimately produce new products and deliver new services, the considered function is essential in the innovation system. This study seeks to extract the challenges and give solutions to improve the production and deliver services in the innovation system. Producing and delivering services does not occur in a vacuum and should occur in a context called the Supply Chain (SC). In this paper, qualified experts were interviewed to discover the challenges and solutions to improve production. Fifteen elite researchers in the innovation field then discussed the results in focus sessions and refined practical solutions after an in-depth review of the extracted information. The role of responsible institutions was determined, and the necessary indicators were extracted to evaluate the factors of innovative production after providing the required infrastructure to achieve production promotion. One of the Fuzzy Multi-Attribute Decision Making (FMADM) techniques is also used to prioritize the discovered solutions based on the importance of influencing the producing promotion. Finally, a model is presented for improving the production and service functions in the innovation system. The results showed the main solution is to collaborate and create efficient integration at different SC levels.

With the increase of news on social networks, a way to identify fake news has become an essential matter. Classification is a fundamental task in natural language processing (NLP). Convolutional neural network (CNN), as a popular deep learning model, has shown remarkable success in the task of fake news classification. In this paper, new baseline models were studied for fake news classification using CNN. In these models, documents are fed to the network as a 3-dimensional tensor representation to provide sentence-level analysis. Applying such a method enables the models to take advantage of the positional information of the sentences in the texts. Besides, analyzing adjacent sentences allows extracting additional features. The proposed models were compared with the state-of-the-art models using a collection of real and fake news extracted from Twitter about covid-19, and the fusion layer was used as the decision layer in selecting the best feature. The results showed that the proposed models had better performance, particularly in these documents, and the results were obtained with 97.33% accuracy for classification on Covid-19 after reviewing the evaluation criteria of the proposed decision system model.

Nowadays, many accidents, malfunctions, and quality defects are happening in production systems due to Human Errors Probability (HEP). Human Reliability Analysis (HRA) methods have been proposed to measure the HEP based on Performance Shaping Factors (PSFs), but these methods do not have a procedure to select the effective PSFs and consider the PSFs dependency. In this paper, we propose an Artificial Neural Network based Human Reliability Analysis (ANNHRA) in cooperation with Response Surface Method (RSM). This framework uses the advantage Systematic Human Error Reduction and Prediction Approach (SHERPA) method to quantify the PSFs and the ANN and RSM to consider the PSFs dependency and select the most effective PSFs. This framework decreases the time and cost and increases the accuracy of HRA. The proposed framework has been applied to a real case and the provided results show that human reliability can be calculated more effectively using ANNHRA framework.

The current study, according to ergonomic factors, aims to model the nurses’ work shift scheduling problem. Considering the urgent needs of the hospitals in providing better services to patients, it seems significant to take the preferences of nurses in scheduling shifts into account. Therefore, in this paper, a multi-objective model of nurses’ scheduling with emphasis on reducing their fatigue during the career shift is presented. To evaluate the outputs of the model, two numerical instances in small and large sizes with real data of Labbafinejad Hospital were designed in 18-person and 90-person wards. To solve a small size problem, a comprehensive standard decision method is employed, the results of which showed that nurses take their most rest during the night shift and in the middle of their working hours to reduce fatigue. Furthermore, due to the NP-Hard nature of the nurses' scheduling problem, in the problem of the 90-person ward, MOPSO and NSGA II algorithms are applied based on the design of a new chromosome. Using the TOPSIS method and entropy weighting method shows that the designed NSGA II algorithm can solve the nurses’ scheduling problem of Labbafinejad Hospital faster and better.

The Bankruptcy of insurance companies compared to companies in other industries can have a more devastating impact on the customers of this industry and on society as a whole; because the insurance company's bankruptcy is equal to the risk of the economic presence of the insurer and third parties. Severe outcomes of insurance company's bankruptcy have made financial monitoring institutions to design systems for evaluation and supervision of insurance companies’ solvency in order to reduce bankruptcy risk of these companies. Inappropriate design of these systems may transmit incorrect signals to the insurance companies, lawmakers, and insurers and would have irreversible effects. Thus, the current research aims at prioritizing different solvency monitoring systems of Iran Insurance Company using Analytic Network Process (ANP). This is an applied research in terms of purpose, and it is descriptive - analytical research in terms of data collection method. The identified indexes for evaluation and monitoring the insurance companies’ solvency include the quantitative computational aspects, flexibility, and qualitative aspects. Following data collection using the network analysis software, which was used for advanced hierarchy analysis and DEMATEL, which was used for ranking qualitative, quantitative aspects, and flexibility, it is concluded that the quantitative computational index has the highest impact, and the qualitative index has the lowest impact on the solvency of Iran Insurance Company.

In many cases, supermarkets are founded on rental of already built property and in this case, the space is accepted as is. It is imperative in this case that the supermarket be designed to achieve multiple objectives such as ease of roaming, display area, special display areas etc. It is important for any store to have a good design, because it will be reflected on the customer’s satisfaction, which in turn will increase sales and will ease customer flow. Several possible ready-made designs are available in the literature such as Grid, loop, and mixed. When implemented on the current space limitations, they can have different achievement for the objectives of the design. Analytical Hierarchy process (AHP) represents a suitable technique for comparing these designs and reaching the final layout design selection. AHP layout selection is applied to a local supermarket and different layouts were generated. The design objectives are then evaluated for each of the layouts. It was concluded initially there is variability in the objectives achieved by the different designs, and a suitable multi-objective technique is required to select the final design. AHP is used to determine which of the designs was the most suitable through multiple comparison and consistency check. The results showed that the grid design was the most suitable for the current case study.

Due to the increased attention to training and improving the training level, its evaluation requires special procedures. In this paper, a novel approach is proposed to evaluate the performance of training courses using different evaluation and rating techniques. In order to identify the criteria affecting the assessment, the Delphi hourly method is used. To determine the severity of impact and the importance of model elements, the revised method proposed by Dalalah et al was used in FDEMATEL. Using the FVIKOR technique, the in-service training courses held in Mazandaran and Golestan Regional Electricity Company were prioritized. The findings of this study indicate the high importance of universality of training materials compared to other model criteria. They also suggest that setting a short-term in-service training course yields the best training performance.
