Agile project management concept was introduced in the 21st century for the first time to provide continuous and timely software to provide value to the shareholders. This method is also useful for a variety of projects to respond to environmental changes. As a dynamic business area, always there is a balance between the current and desired status of project-based organizations for which the study of the agile gap is important. In addition, there is no exact definition for desired status. Therefore, studying perception and expectation of contractors and employers is playing a main role for agile project management analysis. In this paper, data envelopment analysis has been applied to identify the most critical agile project management dimensions, based on the difference between contractors’ and employers’ perceptions and expectations. The case study includes six projects in Foolad technique Co. , the results showed that the following criteria are in critical condition in Foolad Technique Company: "team capabilities", " Customer Involvement", " Delivery Strategy" and "organizational environment"

One of the classes of the project schedule is the Material Procurement Scheduling (MPS) problem, which is considered besides the material allocation to warehouse (MAW) problem recently. In the literature, the Simultaneous Solution of MPS-MAW is investigated by considering one warehouse and unlimited capacity of the warehouses most of the times. In this paper, we propose the propositional and mathematical model of the simultaneous MPS-MAW with multiple warehouses and the limited capacity at the whole of the horizon planning for each warehouse. The proposed model aims to obtain the best ordering point, selection of the best suppliers, the best activity start, and the fair material distribution to the warehouses as possible by the given objective function. The proposed model is NP-hard, so a metaheuristic namely simulated annealing is proposed to reach the acceptable but not optimal solutions in a short time. Also, to overcome the complexity of the model, the encoding of the decision variables have been done by adding the auxiliary variable. Comparing the solutions of the small problems with the exact methods shows the validation of the proposed SA. Also, the design of experiments shows the significance of the model and each SA parameters. Finally, by the optimum values of the SA parameters, the large problems have been solved at acceptable times.

In recent decades, several outbreaks have threatened societies and claimed many lives. Outbreak response management plays a crucial role in reducing the fatality rate and the total healthcare system cost. Among all the parameters affecting the performance of the outbreak response system, the available resources are one of the most important. This becomes critical when the number of infected people who need such resources is substantial. In such circumstances, the system cost and the death rate may significantly rise. Therefore, in this paper, we present an analysis of the impact of the contact frequency among people during an outbreak considering the capacity of the healthcare system expressed as the total number of hospital beds following a systems dynamics approach. We investigate the case of the novel Coronavirus, known as COVID-19, in Iran for which the results indicate the circumstances under which the healthcare system may become exhausted, and a catastrophe may occur. Finally, some suggestions are made based on the analysis of the results to avoid such circumstances.

Planning and scheduling are among the most important parts of the management’s duties. Development of an efficient scheduling method can results in productivity improvement of an organization. Given the importance of production scheduling in an organization, this research seeks to propose a solution for one of the important problems for the production managers. This problem occurs if a considerable percentage of available production times is allocated to machine setup times. The objective of this research is to find a scheduling method to reach minimum of total production time, earliness and tardiness times. In previous researches not all effective factors on this scheduling method such as machine idle times and machine setup costs have been studied simultaneously. A mathematical model for the optimization of multi-product single-machine scheduling problem have been developed which considered sequence dependent setup costs, costs due to delay in delivery, holding costs, and costs related to machine idle time. Comparative results for the random small size test cases show that the proposed mathematical model can obtained an optimal solution in a relatively low computation time, however, for the large-scale cases this model is not efficient and an approximate method is required for these cases.

Nowadays, due to continuous changes in the environment of organizations, the performance evaluation of productive or non-productive companies is not as simple as the past. In spite of the high sale and income of existing companies in the game industry, there are always unsuccessful game products and failed companies. So the digital game industry needs an appropriate performance evaluation system. In this paper, a model for performance assessment of companies in the digital game industry is proposed using integrated Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Balanced Scorecard (BSC) approach. In order to design the evaluation system, the strategies and visions of the game companies are extracted as the initial step. The next step is to extract corresponding attributes and measures based on the four dimensions of the Balanced Scorecard. In the following, the weights of each measure, attributes and dimensions are obtained based on the expert’s opinion. Finally, the results of the implementation of the proposed model of the digital game company are calculated and the efficiency of the model for performance evaluation of the digital game industry is shown.

National and regional growth and development models in the developing countries whose development attributes are far different from those of the developed countries, must be in such a way to allow the corresponding country or region to develop at the minimum cost within the shortest possible period of time. One of the successful approaches toward national and regional development models is to rely on a development model which is based on extending and developing science and technology corridors. This study is aimed at ranking practicable technologies within the science and technology corridor of Isfahan using multiple attribute decision-making process. Since the technology and science corridor are new issues in IRAN and there had been no researches on identification and selection of applicable technologies, the work on this issue was very innovative, also application of 3 methods of decision making for upgrading of reliability is the outstanding criteria of this research. For this purpose, 13 attributes were utilized (categorized into 6 groups) and AHP, TOPSIS and SAW techniques were employed to rank technologies, so that the following order of preference was suggested for the practicable technologies within the science and technology corridor of Isfahan:1) Information and communication technology, 2) material technologies, 3) bio-technology, 4) energy technology, 5) Nano-technology, 6) environmental technology, 7) laser and optic technology, 8) nuclear technology.

Hub location problems (HLP) have multiple applications in logistic systems, the airways industry, supply chain network design, and telecommunication. In the HLP, the selected nodes as hubs perform the principal role in processing the inflow arising from other nodes. So, congestion would be inevitable at hub nodes. This paper considers a p-hub median problem with multiple hub node servers delivering service at variable rates. Since the service rates are limited and variable, a queue is formed at each hub server. To tackle this problem, we developed a mixed-integer linear programming model that optimizes the selected hub nodes to reduce congestion under an allowable defined queue length at each server and minimize the total costs of the model, including transportation and hub establishment costs. We utilized the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) dataset containing 25 USA cities, which is a valuable source for designing numerical examples in the HLP, to prove the model's efficiency. The results obtained from the designed sample problems show that strategic decisions on defining the number of hubs and maximum acceptable queue length at each hub server will significantly impact the hub location network design.

Cellular manufacturing is an important tool for manufacturing firms which leads to better productivity, focused and specialized manufacturing process. To utilize this important tool, the machines have to be grouped into cells. This work is related to using cellular manufacturing in a pharmaceutical factory with alternative routing. This adds more choices in the decision making process and presses for a better tool to make optimal selection. Several objectives may be considered to improve the productivity objectives such as the total number of exits and planning and scheduling robustness related objectives like bottleneck utilization and load balance between and within the alternative routes. Analytical hierarchical process (AHP) is used as a multi-objective decision making process to evaluate the best scenario amongst generated using simulation as a tool for modeling and evaluating the output for each scenario. Three customer case studies were considered with different preferences and the AHP evaluated the best scenario to fit these preferences. The best scenario can vary from one customer preferences to another but for the current system it turned out to be the same choice.

The Ready-Made Garment (RMG) sector, the highest earning foreign currency segment, has had a great influence on GDP (gross domestic product) since 1980. With new technology adaption as well as cheap labor force, this sector has placed the second position of exporting after China. To capture the market position, the management has to give more attention on maintaining Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) guideline properly. This paper proposes a structured framework for occupational risk assessment by means of quantitative way and also provided remedies of those risks in garments industry in the context of Bangladesh. Here, the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method is applied for measuring the severity of safety, healthy, and environmental risk factors and QFD to prioritize the possible solutions. Through the literature review and extracting opinions from experts, a total of four evaluation criteria and sixteen risk factors under SHE categories are recognized and examined via AHP approach to measure their importance. The results demonstrate that ‘Fire’ ‘Contagious diseases’, and ‘Noise’ take high priority in safety, health, and environment related risk factors. The findings of this paper may help the garment industry effectively through the proper identification of the most influential risk factors and generating solutions to mitigate this issue.

Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is used for calculating of relative efficiency and then ranking of decision making units (DMU) subject to inputs and outputs in a continuous decision making space. In this paper, DEA models, Cook and Kress Model and Belton-Vickers model have been applied as a multi attribute decision making (MADM) tool and compared analytically to other MADM models such as simple additive weighted (SAW) and technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS). For this purpose, after simulating some decision making matrixes and replacing DMU with alternatives, outputs with criteria to be maximized, inputs with criteria to be minimized, alternatives will be ranked by these models. The results of this study show that incorporating decision maker value judgments into the DEA models (restricted DEA models) provide comparable results to traditional MADM models (such as SAW and TOPSIS that are applied more than others). So, restricted DEA models seem to be an advantageous tool for solving MADM problems.

In many cases, supermarkets are founded on rental of already built property and in this case, the space is accepted as is. It is imperative in this case that the supermarket be designed to achieve multiple objectives such as ease of roaming, display area, special display areas etc. It is important for any store to have a good design, because it will be reflected on the customer’s satisfaction, which in turn will increase sales and will ease customer flow. Several possible ready-made designs are available in the literature such as Grid, loop, and mixed. When implemented on the current space limitations, they can have different achievement for the objectives of the design. Analytical Hierarchy process (AHP) represents a suitable technique for comparing these designs and reaching the final layout design selection. AHP layout selection is applied to a local supermarket and different layouts were generated. The design objectives are then evaluated for each of the layouts. It was concluded initially there is variability in the objectives achieved by the different designs, and a suitable multi-objective technique is required to select the final design. AHP is used to determine which of the designs was the most suitable through multiple comparison and consistency check. The results showed that the grid design was the most suitable for the current case study.

Wind turbine incorporates a gear box which aids the transmission of torque for the generation of wind energy, industry professionals have streamlined the gearbox design to suite this purpose. Despite the advancement in the gear box design, most wind turbine downtime is attributed to gearbox-related problems. In this study, Finite Element Method through ANSYS R15.0 software was employed in modelling and analysis of a 2-stage planetary gear train for modular horizontal wind turbine. The ring gear was considered as statically constrained member because it is practically fixed to the gearbox housing while the dynamics of the planet gear, planet carrier and the sun pinion were considered as rotating members. Using Factor of Safety (FOS) ranging from 10-15, the gear model was simulated to determine the equivalent stresses, strains and total deformation. The simulation which was conducted for five (5) steps at 2.5 seconds each yielded minimum and maximum Von-mises stress of 10.168 Pa and 5.9889e+009 Pa for the 5th step, minimum and maximum equivalent elastic strain of 5.0839e-011 and 2.9944e-002 for the 5th step and maximum total deformation of 1.7318e-003 m at the 5th step. The findings revealed that the higher the design FOS, the lower the stress-strain deformations, indicating longevity and optimum performance of the gear system. It was observed that increase in contact forces between the meshing gear teeth may cause larger elastic deformations, increasing tooth bending deformation as well as larger backlash on the gear teeth while continuously varying gear mesh stiffness with time can result in excessive vibration and noise.

With these new requirements, the automotive industry that is willing to migrate to the new version will face some challenges. The main challenge comes from the need to re-map the business processes that are needed for the internal audit. The other challenges are the readiness of the quality of the internal auditors, measure gaps, and predict the success of the certification audits. This research is based on a case study at one of the automotive manufacturing company. A framework for measuring the gap analysis of the compliance based on the automotive standards requirements (IATF 16949: 2016) through an internal quality audit score has presented in this research. The analysis has done by using a turtle diagram for risk analysis and follows by a survey on an internal quality auditor’s perception. Based on the analysis, it can be determined which processes need to be audited. The research has found that there are 32 processes in the company which is needed to be an audit. The survey has indicated that internal quality auditor is ready with the new requirement of the quality management system. The internal audit’s result with a weighted score shows the level that can be achieved by the company to fulfill the standard IATF 16949:2016. The gap that has shown in the spider chart depicts that an automotive manufacturing company will be able to passe the certification audit.
