Special Issue: Real-world Application of Integrated Decisions in Supply Chain Management (RAIDSCM)

Overview:

A supply chain (SC) includes the delivery of source materials from the supplier to the manufacturer through to its eventual delivery to the end-user. Todays, integrating the decisions in an SC is of high importance in the competitive market. SC integration creates cohesion and increases connectivity from procurement to production to logistics. SC integration brings these disparate functions together in such a way as to promote collaboration and reduce disconnect. Companies should work together in an integrated SC to maximize their goals and achieve better performance benefits. Therefore, new research should focus on the integration of decisions causing success in SC management (SCM). Decisions in the SCM include production, inventory, location, transportation, distribution, routing, etc. These decisions should be considered in an integrated framework while modeling the resulted problems to obtain better results. The concluded problems can handle a specific combination of these decisions, such as an integrated production-inventory-routing problem. Modeling such decisions in an integrated frame can facilitate the way for the company managers to make crucial decisions, causing maximum profitability. In other words, considering integrated decisions when modeling a real-world problem provides better solutions than the non-integrated approach. For this purpose, this special issue seeks to develop the real-world application of research on modeling the decisions in the SC in an integrated manner.
