Agents are event-driven objects that can integrant in automated manufacturing environments to control certain tasks. In this paper a set of agents (a multi-agent system) is introduced to control an automated manufacturing environment. The studied problem can be modeled as a job shop where the jobs have to transported between machines by AGVs. This article introduces based on a disjunctive graph to modulate the joint scheduling problem and for machines and AGVs scheduling. The objective is to minimize the make span. Some case studies were used to show the effectiveness of simulation in solving these problems

In aggregation of preferences system, each decision maker (DM) selects a subset of the alternative and places them in a ranked order. The key issue of the aggregation preference is how to determine the weights associated with different ranking places. To avoid the subjectivity in determining the weights, data envelopment analysis (DEA) is used in Cook and Kress to determine the most favorable weights for each alternative. With respect to DEA-based models, two main criticisms appear in the literature: multiple top-ties and overly diverse weights. DEA models use assignments of the same aggregate value (equal to unity) to evaluate multiple alternatives as efficient. There is no criterion to discriminate among these alternatives in order to construct a ranking of alternatives. furthermore, overly diverse weights can appear, given that each alternative can have its own vector of weights (i.e., the one that maximizes its aggregate value). Thus, the efficiencies of different alternatives obtained by different sets of weights may be unable to be compared and ranked on the same basis In order to solve these two problems above, In order to rank all the alternatives on the same scale, In this paper we proposed an improvement to Kornbluth’s approach by introducing an multiple objective linear programming (MOLP) approach for generating a common set of weights in the DEA framework. In order to solve the MOLP model we use a goal programming (GP) model. solving the GP model gives us a common set of weights and then the efficiency scores of candidate can be obtained by using these common weights and finally we can rank all alternative.

Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is one of the most powerful and useful instrument to evaluate the efficiency of DMU’s. To measure the relative efficiency of multi-sector DMU’s, it is essential to focus on the activities which relate these sectors together. The electrical firms or companies usually include different parts or sectors and focusing on the efficiency of each part enables us to evaluate the efficiency of the complex in a better way. In this paper, using the network DEA based on SBM approach we have measured the efficiency of electrical firms or companies in Iran.

This study considered the consequence of the length and weight composition percentage of Deleb palm fruit fiber on the physio-mechanical characteristics of an epoxy-based composite through the Taguchi grey relational optimization technique. Considering fiber reinforcement of 30 wt% to 40 wt% and fiber Reinforcement Length (RL) of 1-5 mm, the physical and mechanical properties were determined based on standards. The findings demonstrated that the Deleb palm fruit fiber's characteristics tend to differ from those of other types of fiber reinforcement in that they significantly impact the physio-mechanical characteristics of the resulting epoxy-based reinforced Deleb palm fruit fiber composite. The Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) result showed that, at a confidence interval of 5%, the effects of the fiber characteristics on the physio-mechanical properties of the composites were particularly notable for tensile strength and a decrease in water absorption.

This paper deals with the modeling of the Food Bank (FB) network in the conditions of uncertainty in the demand of charities and the capacity of donating food. The importance of creating a FB network, along with providing quality food, led to consider the two objective functions of minimizing the costs of the total FB network and maximizing the minimum freshness of the food basket. The simultaneous optimization of the above two objective functions is aimed at making correct routing-inventory and allocation decisions. In this paper, food items in food baskets with high shelf-life and low shelf-life are considered. The results of solving the sample problems by combining the operators of two Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Salp Swarm Algorithm (SSA) showed that with the increase in the freshness of the food baskets, the costs of the FB network have increased. Also, the sensitivity analysis showed that the increase in uncertainty in the network leads to an increase in the cost of FB network and a decrease in the freshness of the food basket. The comparison of the results between the algorithms also showed that the efficiency of HGSSA is much higher than GA and SSA and the problem solving time by these methods is extremely lower. The use of HGSSA has increased the rate of achieving effective solutions by 14.06%.

The aim of this study is to detect location and time of change point in Poisson regression model. We assume for years before and after the change point , then observation has a Poisson distribution with parameters , respectively. We used several methods for estimation change point in real mortality data by assume Poisson regression model. Using two simulated and real data analysis showed that the change point has been occurred in year 1993 and this confirmed by all methods. Our findings have shown that the change pattern of mortality trend in Iran is related to improvement of health indicators and decreasing mortality rate in Iran.

Today the reverse logistics is one of the major activities of supply chain management that include all physical activities associated with returned products (e.g, sets, recovery and recycling, disposal and demolition). In this regard, concern about the environmental impacts of business activities lead to interest in supply chain design that is environmentally friendly. This article takes into consideration to minimize the environmental impact beside minimize the total cost of the basic model and the inherent uncertainty of input data. The basic model is considered to be a model plan to design a reverse logistics as a part of the supply chain in order to minimize the total cost for recycling urban solid waste. In dealing with uncertainty a scenario-based approach is used and the proposed model has been solved using GAMS software.

In this paper, we generalize a linear programming problem with symmetric trapezoidal fuzzy number which is introduced by Ganesan and et al. in [3] to a general kind of trapezoidal fuzzy number. In this way, we first establish a new arithmetic operation for multiplication of two trapezoidal fuzzy numbers. Then in order to preparing a method for solving the fuzzy linear programming as well as the primal simplex algorithm, we use a general linear ranking function as a convenient approach in the literature. In fact, our main contribution in this work is based on 3 items: 1) Extending the current fuzzy linear program to a general kind which is not essentially including the symmetric trapezoidal fuzzy numbers , 2) Defining a new multiplication role of two trapezoidal fuzzy numbers, 3) Establishing a fuzzy primal simplex algorithm for solving the generalized model. We in particular emphasize that this study can be used for establishing fuzzy dual simplex algorithm, fuzzy primal-dual simplex algorithm, fuzzy multi objective linear programming and the other similar methods which are appeared in the literature.

Nowadays, increasing environmental and social awareness has led numerous industries to adopt Sustainable Supply Chain Management (SSCM). Sustainable Supplier Selection (SSS) is considered as a very important and primary step of achieving an SSCM. SSS is a Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) problem and is very intricate for its nature. This study aims to evaluate and rank sustainable suppliers using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) which is a popular model for measuring the productive efficiency of decision-making units effectively and is also able to handle MCDM problems. To avoid some inherent limitations of DEA, an evolutionary algorithm Differential Evolution (DE) is used to solve the DEA model. This integrated DEA-DE model provides more accurate efficiencies and is verified through a case study in a pharmaceutical company. Employing this easy and fast model to assess sustainable suppliers will help industries and suppliers to move forward towards achieving and maintaining sustainability and thus will increase the overall performance of SSCM.

In this paper, a hybrid method based on a linear programming model for solving Multi-Attribute Decision-Making (MADM) problems by combining two new methods, the COmplex PRoportional ASsessment (COPRAS) and the Multi-Objective Optimization Ratio Analysis (MOORA) and also using the concept of discrimination intensity functions are presented. Further interaction with the Decision Maker (DM) to determine the weights of the attributes and calculate the weights by solving a linear programming problem without determining the predetermined weight are two of the advantages of the new method. In the proposed method, for each alternative, attributes are weighted with optimism for that alternative, and then alternatives are ranked through efficiency intervals. The proposed method is implemented on a real-world problem derived from the subject literature and compared with other MADM methods. The difference in the final results is evident due to the consideration of more details in determining the rankings.

From 2001 to the present, natural gas production in Indonesia dominates petroleum production. Most of the natural gas is used for export until 2013. From 2014 until now, most of the natural gas production is being utilized for domestic with an increasing trend. Domestic gas usage for households is still far below industry and commercial sectors. Domestic gas usage in the household can be done in two ways, namely city gas and Liquefied Petroleum Gas cylinder. The use of city gas is better in terms of price, mitigation, and gas emission. The government plans to build a new city gas network for 4,000 households. This study aim is to propose the design of city gas network, so the construction and operational costs become minimal. This research uses three stages, namely division of region by using the clustering algorithm, the gas network route determination using heuristics algorithm, and determination of the feasibility using the Benefit-Cost Ratio. We have successfully calculated the maximum region’s capacity by making use of Weymouth Formula. The iterative clustering algorithm is done to make sure the location of Distribution Centers is well-defined. We modified the distance measurement by preferring driving distance rather than Euclidean in the interest of precision. In the end, we also discuss the feasibility study of the project. Based on the calculation, we have obtained that the gas network development project is feasible to run.

Many researches in inventory control area of knowledge have been focused on single objective and multi-objective problem of determining the economic quantity of order. In single objective problems, costs were considered as the objective. However, multi-objective problems have not been well investigated. For instance, there are no hint to transportation cost, budget, or holding costs, or only capacity and demand constraints have been considered in these researches. This study focuses on developing a model accompanied by costs, quality and the time of delivery. The economic order quantity of multi-product from multi-supplier in multi-period under uncertainty in demand and discounted prices are considered in this paper. In first step, a mathematical model is developed for this problem. This mathematical model is solved by using multi-objective optimization method i.e. goal programming. Then, a meta-heuristic method based on multi-objective particle swarm optimization is proposed. Results of the small size numerical examples show that solutions found by using the proposed meta-heuristic method are in average, 5% worse than solutions found by using the mathematical methods; however, it needs much lower computational time.

The importance of social responsibility in organizational and business units have been increasingly stressed by the researchers in recent years. As the supply chain plays an important role in today's business environment, the issue of social responsibility must be carefully considered in designing and planning supply chain. This paper considers the social responsibility to be one of the goals of designing the reverse logistics network for recycling large household waste in terms of uncertainty. To deal with the uncertainty in proposed model, scenario-based random planning is used, and the proposed model has been solved by using GAMS Software. Since the objective function value has been taken into consideration for the model of social responsibility as one of the objectives, the objective function value is more than basic model one; we tried to present an approach as a motivational factor for enterprises to move towards the adoption of social responsibility towards society.

In the manufacturing process, the machine is very important because downtime can inhibit and even stop production. We focused on the highest downtime that occurred in a particular product line and critical machine. This research contributes to overcoming and making the machine's performance and ability better. We make use the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), which started by calculating Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and Six Big Losses. This study also provides the maintenance attempt to increase the effectiveness and to eliminate losses incurred by calculating Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR). Finally, we proposed the TPM implementation to improve the effectiveness of the machine. The result showed that the OEE has not reached the ideal value due to the low availability. Breakdown losses contributed to the biggest factor in the loss. The way to overcome the cause of breakdown losses is to increase performance maintenance, by calculating and evaluating MTBF and MTTR. This research presented the cause of the low value of OEE, provided the performance maintenance policy according to MTBF and MTTR, and proposed the TPM implementation.

To enhance the manufacturing process capability of a refractory company, the scope for implementing the Lean Six Sigma (LSS) methodology is analyzed in this work. The DMAIC methodology of Six Sigma is used in this project to determine the Critical to Quality Characteristics (CTQs), defining the possible causes, identifying the variation in sources, establishing the variable relationships, and implementing the control plans. It was found from the DMAIC approach that the quality of Raw Crude, Water Content, and the frequency of using Temperature Calibration Equipment are the main factors responsible for lowering Productivity in Shaft Kiln. To improve the productivity of Kiln, it was suggested to process the raw crude free of mud, remove the moisture content present in the magnesite stones and take action on changing the frequency of measuring the oil feeding calibration equipment.
